Bajaj General Insurance launches MHCP EDGE Plus

Bajaj General Insurance has launched ‘My Health Care Plan Edge+’ (MHCP EDGE+), a new comprehensive health indemnity insurance product aimed at addressing rising healthcare costs and reducing out-of-pocket medical expenses.

The company said the plan is designed to offer flexible and customisable health coverage, allowing customers to choose protection based on their healthcare needs, affordability and life stage requirements.

Built on the company’s existing MHCP platform, MHCP EDGE+ offers coverage ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 5 crore, along with unlimited reinstatement of the insured amount within a policy year in case of multiple claims.

The base plan covers hospitalisation expenses, including room rent, ICU charges, surgeries, modern treatment procedures, AYUSH therapies, pre and post-hospitalisation expenses, day care procedures, domiciliary hospitalisation, organ donor expenses and ambulance services.

The insurer said the product also includes optional riders and add-ons such as Consumables Plus, Super Cumulative Bonus, Major Illness and Accident Multiplier benefits, and global treatment coverage for planned and emergency healthcare abroad.

Additional features include the “Age Shield” option for premium protection, “Smart Tenure” for cumulative policy benefits, and “Health Limitless”, which offers one claim without any annual sum insured limit during the policyholder’s lifetime.
