Srinagar, Apr 22: Cemtac Cements organised a plantation drive at its plant site in Pulwama, with officials from the Forest Department and the Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee in attendance.
The drive witnessed the presence of Mudasir Mehmood, DFO Awantipora Division, officials of the Forest Department, and Fayaz Ahmad, District Officer, Pulwama Division (JKPCC), among others. Around 1000 saplings of different species were planted as part of the initiative aimed at enhancing green cover and promoting ecological balance in the area.
Members of J&K Eco Watch also participated in the drive.
Speaking on the occasion, DFO Awantipora Division, MudasirMehmood, said, “Such initiatives by industrial units are a positive step towards environmental conservation. Increasing green cover is essential for maintaining ecological balance, and we appreciate Cemtac’s efforts in this regard. We hope to collaborate with them in future plantation and afforestation drives as well.” District Officer, Pulwama Division (JKPCC), Fayaz Ahmad, said, “Industries have a crucial role in ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability. This plantation drive reflects a responsible approach, and we encourage more such initiatives that align development with environmental protection.”
Director of Operations, RumanRiaz, said the company remains committed to sustainable practices.
