Srinagar, Feb 5: The Cyber Police of Kashmir has dismissed reports from Pakistani media that claimed posters of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and army chief General Asim Munir were spotted in Srinagar. The police department took to social media platform X to clarify that these reports were baseless.

In a statement, the Cyber Police Kashmir refuted the allegations, calling them false: “Certain social media accounts and platforms are spreading misleading claims about anti-national posters in Kashmir. These unverified reports are being widely circulated. @cyberpolicekmr is closely monitoring the situation and taking appropriate legal measures.”

Pakistani media had recently circulated a claim that posters featuring Shehbaz Sharif and General Asim Munir had been displayed in Srinagar. This was reminiscent of a similar incident reported three years ago, when media outlets suggested that posters of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and General Qamar Javed Bajwa had been found in Kashmir.

However, local authorities conducted thorough checks in various areas of Srinagar, including markets and public spaces, and confirmed no such posters had been discovered. This incident appears to be part of an ongoing effort to spread misinformation and create a false narrative about the region’s situation.
