Srinagar, June 10: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted bail to Kashmiri human rights activist Khurram Parvez in a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), according to legal news portal Live Law.
Parvez was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in November 2021 in connection with an alleged terror-funding case and has remained in custody since then. His bail plea was earlier rejected by a trial court in December 2024.
According to Live Law, a Division Bench comprising Justice Navin Chawla and Justice Ravinder Dudeja set aside the trial court’s order dated December 17, 2024, and granted bail to Parvez.
“We have granted bail, subject to various conditions,” the Bench said while pronouncing the verdict.
Parvez was arrested from Srinagar on November 22, 2021, and was subsequently remanded to judicial custody on February 25, 2022, after a series of police custody remands.
