DGP reviews Amarnath Yatra security arrangements in Udhampur, lauds inter-agency coordination

Udhampur, July 7: Director General of Police (DGP), Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, on Tuesday visited Udhampur to review the security, traffic management and pilgrim facilitation arrangements along National Highway-44 for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, official sources said.

During the visit, the DGP inspected the deployment of police and security personnel at key locations along the Yatra route and assessed the overall preparedness to ensure the safe and smooth movement of pilgrims.

He interacted with officers and personnel of the Udhampur Police as well as other security agencies deployed for the annual pilgrimage. Appreciating their professionalism, dedication and coordinated efforts, Prabhat commended the seamless inter-agency coordination that has been instrumental in maintaining a secure and well-managed Yatra.

The DGP emphasised the need for sustained vigilance, close coordination among all stakeholders and public-centric policing to ensure the pilgrimage continues in a safe, secure and incident-free manner. He also stressed the importance of efficient traffic regulation and prompt assistance to pilgrims travelling along the National Highway.

Officials said the review was aimed at assessing the effectiveness of existing security and facilitation measures and ensuring that all necessary arrangements remain in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

Greater Kashmir
