Riyadh, Mar 18: Eid-ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia would be celebrated on Friday as the Shawwal crescent moon was not sighted anywhere in the kingdom on Wednesday evening.
According to updates on the X handle of Haramain Sharifain, “The crescent for the month of Shawwal 1447 was not sighted today.”
This means the holy month of Ramadhan would complete 30 days in the country.
As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on Friday, March 20, marking the beginning of the month of Shawwal.
The announcement follows traditional moon-sighting procedures used to determine the end of Ramadan and the start of Eid-ul-Fitr in the Islamic lunar calendar.
