Employees’ strike hits services in GMC Rajouri

The employees have been protesting over the prolonged delay in notification of their recruitment and service rules.

The agitation has disrupted routine functioning at the medical colleges, causing inconvenience to patients and attendants seeking treatment.

With employees remaining on strike, the impact is being particularly felt in OPDs, where patients are facing difficulties in accessing routine consultations and other hospital-related services.

The situation has raised concerns over the continued disruption of patient care.

The employees, recruited for the new GMCs several years ago, have been demanding early finalisation and notification of their service rules, which they say have remained pending for years despite their continued service in the medical colleges.

In Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri, OPD services are worst hit with patients seen suffering a lot to avail OPD checkup from specialised doctors.

The patients in helpless state have pleaded before the government to address the crisis state.
