Jammu, Aug 16: Veteran Congress leader from Jammu and Kashmir and former Member Parliament (MP) Dharampal Sharma passed away at his residence in Jammu on Sunday.
Being nonagenarian, he was not keeping good health for the past some time, due to age-related ailments.
Dharampal Sharma also served as an MLA in J&K Legislative Assembly from Akhnoor segment for four terms. He represented Congress in Rajya Sabha from 1988 to 1994.
His last rites will take place today at Shastri Nagar cremation ground at 1 pm.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, on behalf of the party, expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of veteran Congress leader and prayed for courage to the bereaved family to bear an irreparable loss.
“Entire rank and file of the Congress party deeply condoles the sad demise and prays for peace to the departed soul,” Ravinder Sharma said, in a condolence message.
