Four Amarnath pilgrims injured in minor road accident near Banihal, condition stable

Banihal, Jul 09: Four registered Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims sustained minor injuries after a taxi carrying them towards the Baltal base camp met with an accident near the Yatra Ground at Lamber, Banihal, on Thursday, officials said.

The injured pilgrims were immediately rescued and shifted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, where doctors provided first aid. Hospital authorities said all four pilgrims are in stable condition and are under observation.

The injured have been identified as Varesh Yadav (44), son of Ram Lal Singh, a resident of Faridabad, who suffered blunt trauma to the left wrist , Usha Devi (55), daughter of Dewari Lal, a resident of Faridabad, who sustained blunt trauma to the chin , Natasha Sharma (28), daughter of D.K. Sharma, a resident of Uttarakhand, who suffered abrasions on her left eyebrow and Neharka (20), daughter of D.K. Sharma, a resident of Uttarakhand, who sustained blunt trauma to the head.

Officials said the accident occurred near the Lamber Yatra Ground while the pilgrims were travelling towards Baltal. Prompt action by the police, health officials and emergency response teams ensured that the injured were evacuated without delay.

Doctors at SDH Banihal confirmed that all four pilgrims are stable, and their injuries are stated to be minor. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
