New Delhi, Mar 24: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday extended greetings to personnel of the Assam Rifles and their families on the force’s Raising Day, praising their service in securing India’s northeastern frontiers. In a message posted on X, the minister said, “Raising Day greetings to the courageous personnel of the Assam Rifles and their families. They shield our borders in the Northeast’s challenging terrains, embodying valor and patriotism while building trust among communities with humanitarian support.” He also paid tribute to those who laid down their lives in the line of duty, adding, “Remembering the brave Assam Rifles personnel who sacrificed their lives in service of the nation.” The Assam Rifles, one of India’s oldest paramilitary forces, plays a key role in guarding sensitive borders and maintaining stability in the Northeast, while also undertaking humanitarian and community outreach initiatives.
