Ganderbal, May 31: A husband-wife couple was critically injured in a road accident near Zojila Pass on Srinagar-Leh highway on Saturday.
An official said that the accident occurred near Bajri Nallah, Zojila on Saturday afternoon when a private vehicle met with an accident while en route from Sonamarg to Kargil.
He said the vehicle reportedly lost control and skidded off the road near Bajri Nallah, Zojila. As a result, the driver identified as Prateek Mandal, resident of West Bengal and his wife Annu Smriti, who was accompanying him, sustained injuries. Both injured persons were shifted to the PHC Sonamarg for medical treatment.
The authorities have taken cognizance of the matter, while as a police party has been deputed to the spot for further investigation, official said.
