During the meeting, the delegation sought the appointment of a “Pension Mitra” to serve as a single point of contact for pensioners seeking assistance. The bank authorities informed the delegation that orders had been issued to all branches in this regard. The issuance of Senior Citizen Cards by J&K Bank was also discussed. Bank officials clarified that certain social media posts circulating on the issue were fake and urged the public not to rely on unverified information.
The delegation was further informed that nearly one lakh pensioners had yet to submit nomination details for their bank accounts. The bank authorities advised them to visit their respective branches at the earliest and complete the required formalities. The officials also urged pensioners whose accounts had remained inoperative for a prolonged period to approach their respective branches and complete the necessary formalities to regularise them. The federation appreciated the bank authorities’ response and expressed hope that the issues raised would be addressed promptly in the interest of pensioners across J&K.
