JKHARA condemns attack on Kashmir-bound bus in Haryana

Srinagar, Oct 18: The Jammu and Kashmir Hotels and Restaurant Association (JKHARA), through its President Babar Chowdhary, has strongly condemned the reported attack on a Jammu and Kashmir-bound passenger bus in Haryana, expressing serious concern over the safety of passengers travelling between Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country.

Chowdhary said that any act of violence or intimidation against passengers was unacceptable and called upon the Haryana Government and police to ensure a thorough and time-bound investigation, identify those responsible and take strict action against them in accordance with the law.

He said passengers travelling for work, business, education and personal reasons must be able to move freely and safely across the country without fear or harassment. Such incidents, he said, raise concerns about passenger safety and require a prompt response from the authorities.

JKHARA welcomed the intervention of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who took up the matter with the Haryana Government and sought action. The Association urged the authorities to ensure accountability and take preventive measures to avoid a recurrence of such incidents.

Chowdhary said the safety and dignity of every passenger must be protected and called for a fair and impartial investigation so that justice is delivered in accordance with the law.
