Srinagar, Aug 02: Kashmir’s emerging mixed martial arts (MMA) star, Owais Yaqoob, continued his winning streak by securing a first-round TKO (technical knockout) over undefeated Delyan Georgiev at BRAVE CF 107 in Bulgaria on Saturday.
The emphatic victory marked another significant milestone in Yaqoob’s rapidly rising professional career. With the win over Bulgaria’s Delyan Georgiev on August 1, he improved his professional MMA record to 6-1.
Competing on one of the sport’s leading international platforms, Yaqoob dominated the contest from the outset before forcing the referee to stop the bout in the opening round after a flurry of unanswered strikes.
The win further strengthens the Kashmiri fighter’s growing reputation on the international MMA circuit and extends his impressive winning streak against quality opposition.
Yaqoob, who hails from Pulwama district in south Kashmir, has steadily emerged as one of India’s brightest MMA prospects through a string of dominant performances in recent years. Training under the renowned American Kickboxing Academy (AKA), he has competed in leading MMA promotions and continues to make a mark on the global stage.
