LG Sinha calls for fulfilling developed India dream

Jammu, Dec 16: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday called for achieving the vision of making India a developed nation.

Unveiling the 108-feet high mast national flag at Kachrial in Akhnoor on the ‘Vijay Diwas’, LG Sinha said, “May our beloved and victorious tricolour fly high in the world. Our tricolour is a symbol of our freedom, of our self-respect, and of sacrifices and martyrdom. Together, we should march to achieve the lofty vision of making India a developed nation.”

Paying homage to the soldiers and officers, he said that they had made the country proud by their valour and sacrifice during the 1971 war.

The LG also felicitated the war veterans and ‘Veer Naris’ and saluted their courage and sacrifice for the nation.

“The land of Kachrial not only holds historical significance but it is also a holy land for the countrymen as every inch of this place gratefully remembers those brave soldiers who laid down their lives while guarding the sovereignty and integrity of the nation in the 1965 and 1971 wars,” he said.

LG Sinha congratulated the General Officer Commanding (GOC), White Knight Corps (16 Corps), Lieutenant General P K Mishra of this very thoughtful gesture of installing the 108-feet high mast national flag.

He also appreciated the Flag Foundation of India for its remarkable contribution to this historic initiative.

Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport, Science and Technology, Information Technology, ARI and Trainings, Satish Sharma; General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma; GOC 10 RAPID, Maj Gen H S Brar; Commander Pallanwala Brigade, Brig Dayanand Sharma and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Flag Foundation of India, Maj Gen (Retd) Ashim Kohli were also present on the occasion.
