Srinagar, July 16: In a move to strengthen the security in Jammu and Kashmir, additional companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are likely to be deployed in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming hours, sources told News18 on Wednesday.
Sources said that an initial internal communication regarding the deployment has already been circulated, while a formal order is expected to be issued shortly.
A senior official confirmed that the union territory may witness strategic security adjustments, prompting the movement of more CRPF personnel to assist the Jammu and Kashmir police in maintaining law and order across key areas.
In addition to the new deployments, sources said adjustments of existing security forces may take place, potentially requiring more troops of CRPF.
These troops will be guarding nakas and districts and will be involved in checking, frisking, and other key security duties, including handling any attack.
