Srinagar, Aug 7: National Conference Rajya Sabha MP Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan today expressed gratitude to the leaders and members of the INDIA alliance for extending support to the party’s demand for the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
In a letter dated August 7, addressed to the leaders and members of the political parties constituting the INDIA Alliance, Ramzan, on behalf of National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, thanked them for participating in the peaceful protest held at Makar Dwar, Parliament, on August 5.
The letter states that the participation and solidarity shown by the alliance partners reaffirmed a shared commitment to the Constitution, democracy, federalism, and the restoration of the constitutional rights and full statehood of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ramzan said the support of the INDIA Alliance sent a strong and unequivocal message that constitutional promises made to the people must be honoured. He further said the National Conference values the principled support of the alliance and remains committed to continuing the democratic and constitutional struggle alongside like-minded parties.
