MP Mian Altaf welcomes reopening of Naranag Temple

Srinagar, June 20: National Conference MP Mian Altaf Ahmad on Saturday welcomed the Lieutenant Government-led administration’s decision to reopen Naranag tourist spot in Kangan for visitors, calling it a major boost for local economy and summer tourism.

In a statement issued, Mian Altaf said that the announcement by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha about the reopening of Naranag temple for visitors is a welcome step and is a positive step.

Mian Altaf said Naranag has always been a favourite for trekkers, campers, and families seeking peace away from crowded spots and hundreds of people are dependent on tourism here.

“I thank the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the administration for reopening Naranag. Naranag is not just a tourist place, it is livelihood for hundreds of families, ponywalas, shopkeepers, guides, and homestay owners from Kangan and surrounding villages,” he said.
