Handwara, Oct 21: Muraads 7th Street Sgr were crowned champions of the Ramhall Cricket League (RCL) 2025 on Tuesday after a commanding seven-wicket victory over Royal Goodwill Srinagar in a thrilling final, held at the Shaheen Sports Field Pandithpora.

The limited overs (20-over) tournament, as per a statement, concluded with a dominant chasing performance by Muraads 7th Street Sgr, much to the delight of a massive crowd.

The final was played out in front of a huge, electrifying crowd that thronged the ground hours before the first ball was bowled. The atmosphere was hailed by spectators and dignitaries alike as a testament to the passion for cricket in North Kashmir.

Royal Goodwill Srinagar, after winning the toss and opting to bat, struggled to build significant partnerships against a disciplined Muraad bowling attack. They were restricted to a modest total of 136 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. WAHID TEELI was the top scorer for Royal Goodwill Srinagar with a fighting knock of 49 runs off 32 balls. The Muraads’ bowling effort was spearheaded by their captain, Imtiyaz Lefty, who delivered an economical spell of 3 overs for 22 runs, picking up two crucial wickets. He was well supported by Waseem Raza (4-0-20-3) and Amir Sofi (4-0-24-2).

Chasing 137 for the title, Muraads 7th Street Sgr made light work of the target, reaching 137 for 3 in just 16.3 overs. The chase was anchored by a magnificent unbeaten half-century from their captain, Imtiyaz Lefty. Opening the innings, Lefty scored a brilliant 63 runs off 47 balls (including 2 fours and 4 sixes) and stayed till the end to see his team home. He received solid support from Irfan Mir (Lara), who contributed a vital 50 runs off 38 balls.

For his stellar all-round performance with both bat and ball, Imtiyaz Lefty was rightfully adjudged the Player of the Match (MVP). While Javid Jaddu bagged the MVP of the tournament award.

Beyond the action on the field, the entire Ramhall Cricket League 2025 received universal praise for its outstanding organisation. A number of top dignitaries and sports enthusiasts present were in awe of the tournament’s professional management and scale.
