Bandipora, Aug 27: Officials in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday said there was no risk of flooding.
Executive Engineer, PHE Bandipora, Mutayib Bashir, told Greater Kashmir: “We don’t expect the water level in the Jhelum to cross the flood declaration mark at Asham.”
He added that no advisory had been issued to residents living in low-lying areas around Wular Lake.
Bashir said water levels were expected to rise by 7 pm, after which “it will start to recede.”
Meanwhile, a local resident in Saderkoot, on the banks of Wular, said the “situation seems under control.”
