PM Modi congratulates Indian medal winners at Commonwealth Games

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Indian athletes Dilip Mahadu Gavit, Sreeshankar and Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath for their medal-winning performances at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, praising their determination, dedication and achievements on the international stage.

PM Narendra Modi, as per a PIB statement, congratulated Dilip Mahadu Gavit on winning the Gold medal in the Men’s 100m T47 event at the Commonwealth Games 2026.

The Prime Minister noted that Dilip Mahadu Gavit set a new Commonwealth Games record and achieved his season best with a remarkable timing.

PM Modi said that his speed, determination and dedication have made the nation proud and wished him the very best for his future endeavours.

In a post, PM Modi said; “A phenomenal performance by Dilip Mahadu Gavit! Congratulations to him on winning the Gold Medal in the Men’s 100m T47 event with a remarkable timing, setting a new Games Record and achieving his Season Best. His speed, determination and dedication have made our nation proud. Best wishes for his future endeavours!

PM Modi, also congratulated Sreeshankar on winning the Silver medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.

The Prime Minister described his performance as exceptional and noted that the medal came with his best leap.

PM Modi said that Sreeshankar’s success will inspire several youngsters to pursue excellence in athletics and wished him the very best for his future endeavours.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

“An outstanding Silver for Sreeshankar! What an exceptional performance!

Congratulations to him on winning the medal and that too with his best leap. His success will motivate several youngsters to pursue excellence in athletics. My best wishes for his upcoming endeavours.

In a sperate message PM Modi also congratulated Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath on winning the Silver medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026.

The Prime Minister lauded his sprint and determination and noted that the performance was also his season best.

PM Modi said that the success reflects Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath’s hard work and focus, and wished him many more achievements in the future.

In a post on X, PM Modi said;
