Police attach house linked to drug trafficking in Shopian

Shopian, June 6: Police in south Kashmir’s Shopian district have attached a residential house worth Rs 18,51,402 that they said was acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking.

The property belongs to Mohammad Ashraf Allaie, a resident of Melhura in Zainapora area, and was attached in connection with FIR No. 10/2025 registered at Zainapora police station, officials said on Friday.

Police said investigations revealed that the house had been purchased using money generated from the illegal trade of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

The attachment was carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, members of the police team, the village Lambardar and Chowkidar, in accordance with legal procedures, officials said.

Police said the action was part of an ongoing campaign against drug trafficking and aimed at targeting both offenders and assets created through proceeds of crime.

Authorities urged the public to share information about drug trafficking and related activities.
