Chairman of the Save Sharda Committee Kashmir (Regd.), Ravinder Pandita was honoured with the Lal Ded National Literary Award by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at a grand book release ceremony held at Tagore Hall.
The event marked the release of Lal Ded – The Mother of Kashmir, authored by Dr. Vaidehi Taman, and recognized individuals for their contributions to cultural and heritage preservation.
Other awardees included Commodore (Retd.) D. S. Sodhi and senior journalist Manzoor Dar, among others. Expressing gratitude, Ravinder Pandita thanked the organizers for highlighting Lal Ded as a symbol of Kashmir’s shared cultural heritage.
He, along with the organizers, called for the establishment of a library in Lal Ded’s name to preserve and promote her works and those of her contemporaries. The function was attended by several distinguished guests, including former Rajya Sabha MP Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, and noted Kashmiri writer Neerja Mattoo.
