Srinagar, Sep 30: Several residential houses were gutted in a major fire incident in Mangli area of Warwan Valley in Kishtwar district, officials said.
Officials said that fire broke out in the congested residential area of Mangli and quickly spread, engulfing several houses made mostly of wood. Locals tried to douse the flames but the fire spread rapidly.
Preliminary reports suggest at least 12 houses have been completely gutted in the blaze, they said. No loss of life has been reported so far.
Warwan Valley in Kishtwar has witnessed several major fire incidents in the past as well, with property worth lakhs damaged.
Fire tenders and police have rushed to the spot, and efforts are underway to control the situation. The cause of fire was not immediately known.
