Banihal, July 29: A young Muslim traveller from West Bengal, Majidul Haq of Cooch Behar district, has reached Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir as part of his unique nationwide foot march aimed at promoting patriotism and national unity.
Majidul Haq, who began his journey from Cooch Behar in February this year, is travelling entirely on foot with the mission of hoisting the Indian national flag in all 26 states of the country. So far, he has completed his journey through 16 states and successfully hoisted the Tricolour in each of them. After completing all 26 states, he plans to continue his mission by carrying the Tricolour to 26 countries around the world.
While passing through Ramban district along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), Majidul Haq said his journey is dedicated to spreading the message of peace, unity, harmony and love for the nation, irrespective of religion or region.
Carrying the national flag and a backpack, the young traveller has covered thousands of kilometres despite difficult weather conditions and challenging terrain. His determination has drawn the attention of local residents and travellers, many of whom stopped to encourage and appreciate his mission.
Majidul Haq said he hopes his journey will inspire young people across the country to promote national integration, communal harmony and respect for the Indian Tricolour. He added that his dream is to complete the mission successfully and represent India’s spirit of unity on an international stage.
