A 45-year-old woman was injured after jumping from a window upon seeing her son hanging at their home in the Mahore area of Jammu’s Reasi district on Monday, officials said.
An official said a heart-wrenching incident occurred in Baggodas village of Mahore tehsil, where a young boy was found hanging at his home during the intervening night of October 18 and 19.
He said the boy’s mother, upon seeing her son hanging, jumped from a window of the house and sustained serious injuries.
The deceased was identified as Mohd Farooq (20), son of Shabir Ahmed, a resident of Baggodas village. His mother was identified as Basso Begum (45).
The woman was shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu by family members, where she is undergoing treatment.
