New Delhi, Nov 15: The huge cache of explosives which exploded at Nowgam police station in Jammu and Kashmir was brought from Haryana’s Faridabad in a Tata 407 pickup truck in small bags and was being examined by experts when the “accident” took place.

A top official said investigators were still trying to find out the possible targets of the terror module which was collecting a huge amount of explosives, some of which exploded near the Red Fort here and killed 13 people on November 10.

Nine people were killed and 32 injured in the accidental explosion at the Nowgam police station in Srinagar on Friday night.

The blast occurred when a specialised team was extracting samples from the large and “unstable” cache of explosives, according to Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The explosives were confiscated from Faridabad during raids on November 9-10 and later transported to Kashmir in a Tata 407 vehicle in small bags following full protocol, the top official said.

On the reason behind transporting the explosives to Nowgam, the official said the original case was registered at the Nowgam police station and the explosives were the case property of that police station. Hence, there was a need to transport the explosives so far.

Asked about the possible targets of the ‘white-collar’ terror module which collected the explosives, the official said the investigators were still grappling for clues.

“All the information about the possible targets was… purely speculative,” the official said.

CCTV footage shows violent tremor inside Red Fort metro station during car blast

New Delhi, Nov 15: A CCTV footage sourced from inside the Red Fort metro station offers a stark glimpse of the moments immediately before and after the car blast that killed 13 people and injured several others, an official said on Saturday.

The visuals extracted from internal surveillance cameras show routine commuter movement inside the station when a sudden, violent tremor shakes the premises at the precise moment the explosion occurred at the nearby traffic signal.

Objects inside the station can be seen rattling, while passengers are visibly jolted as shock reverberates through the structure.

The footage also shows some commuters instinctively rushing further inside the station, seeking safety as the impact of the explosion becomes apparent.

Officials said investigators are examining the new visuals to better understand the intensity of the blast and its immediate effect on structures surrounding the Red Fort.

The Lal Quila metro station has remained closed since the day of the incident.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has been issuing daily updates. On Thursday, it announced that the station will remain shut until further notice, owing to the ongoing security review and investigation.

Security agencies continue to analyse multiple CCTV inputs from the blast site, surrounding areas and the metro station to piece together a comprehensive sequence of events leading up to the detonation.

J-K DGP Rules Out Terror Angle After Accidental Explosion

J-K DGP Rules Out Terror Angle After Accidental Explosion

Srinagar, Nov 15: Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Prabhat, on Friday said that nine people were killed and over 30 injured in last night’s explosion at Police Station Nowgam, where a large quantity of explosives seized in a recent case was being sampled for forensic examination.

Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, the DGP said the blast occurred around 11:20 pm on Thursday during the ongoing sampling of explosive substances, chemicals and reagents recovered earlier this month in a major seizure linked to FIR No. 162/2025 of Police Station Nowgam.

He said the consignment — recovered on November 9 and 10 from Faridabad — had been transported and securely stored in the open area of the police station as per procedure. “Given the voluminous nature of the recovery, the sampling process by the FSL team had been going on for the past two days,” Prabhat said.

He stressed that the material was “highly unstable and sensitive,” and the forensic team had been handling it with “extreme and utmost caution.” Despite these precautions, he said, an accidental explosion occurred during the process.

“Any other speculation into the cause of this incident is unnecessary,” the DGP added.
Providing the casualty details, Prabhat said nine personnel lost their lives, including one official of the State Investigation Agency (SIA), three members of the FSL team, two crime photographers, two revenue officials who were part of the magistrate’s team, and a tailor associated with the officials.

He said 27 police personnel, two revenue officials and three civilians from nearby residential areas sustained injuries. All the injured were immediately evacuated to the hospital and are undergoing treatment.

The blast severely damaged the police station building and also affected several adjacent structures. “The extent of the damage is being ascertained,” he said, adding that a formal inquiry has been initiated to establish the precise cause of the accident.

Expressing deep grief, the DGP said: “J&K Police stands in solidarity with the families of the deceased in this hour of grief.”

Delhi Police registers fresh FIR under criminal conspiracy in Red Fort blast case

Delhi Police registers fresh FIR under criminal conspiracy in Red Fort blast case

New Delhi, Nov 15: Delhi Police on Saturday registered a fresh FIR under sections of criminal conspiracy in the Red Fort blast investigation, officials said.

The new FIR comes days after the car blast near the historic Red Fort area on November 10 killed 12 people.

Meanwhile, security around the Red Fort has been heightened in the wake of the blast, with authorities maintaining a strict vigil over entry points and surrounding areas.

A day earlier, the National Medical Commission (NMC) had cancelled the registration of four doctors from Jammu and Kashmir – Dr Muzaffar Ahmad, Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr Muzamil Shakeel and Dr Shaheen Saeed – in the Indian Medical Register/National Medical Register with immediate effect, sources told ANI.

All State Medical Councils have been informed about the decision.

An order has been issued to all medical councils regarding the removal of the above four doctors, effective November 14, 2025.

Delhi police have already arrested Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr Muzamil Shakeel and Dr Shaheen Saeed in connection with the Delhi blast case, as they had an alleged link to past terror cases.

Investigation agencies on Thursday informed that around eight suspects were allegedly preparing to execute coordinated explosions at four locations, with each pair assigned to a specific target city.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused groups had intended to move in pairs, each carrying multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) for simultaneous attacks.

Delhi Police confirmed that the man who carried out the car blast near Red Fort was Dr Umar Un Nabi, after forensic DNA testing matched his biological sample with that of his mother.

However, Al-Falah University has distanced itself from Dr Umar and Dr Muzammil, stating that the University has no connection with the accused beyond their official capacities, and that no questionable chemical or material is being used or stored on the University premises.

On November 10, the blast near the Red Fort complex in the national capital killed 12 people and injured several others.

Security agencies have recovered the diaries of Delhi blast case accused Dr Umar and Dr Muzammil, which mention the dates November 8 to 12, indicating that the planning was underway for such an incident during that period, sources said.

According to the sources, the diary also contained the names of approximately 25 individuals, most of whom hailed from Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad.

Essential DNA, explosive, and other samples have been collected from the site and sent for forensic examination. The investigation has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency.

US presses for approval of UN resolution on Gaza as Russia offers rival proposal

US presses for approval of UN resolution on Gaza as Russia offers rival proposal

United Nations, Nov 15: The United States stepped up calls Friday for U.N. consensus on its plan for Gaza as Russia circulated a rival proposal that would strip out reference to a transitional authority meant to be headed by President Donald Trump and asks the United Nations to lay out options for an international stabilization force.

The United States and eight countries that have played a role in reaching the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas after more than two years of war in Gaza urged “swift adoption” of the latest U.S. draft resolution by the 15-member U.N. Security Council. Just one of the eight is on the council — Pakistan.

The joint statement with Qatar, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jordan and Turkey came after the U.S. faced objections this week and made changes to its U.N. proposal to include more defined language on Palestinian self-determination, according to a U.N. diplomat briefed on the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the negotiations.

The latest U.S. draft and the Russian proposal are both expected to be put up for a vote early next week, the diplomat said, adding that the American plan could garner the nine votes needed to pass, with Russia and China likely abstaining instead of using their vetoes.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Trump’s ceasefire plan ”is the best path to peace in the Middle East” and said the U.S. resolution will enable the effort to move forward.

The U.S. resolution endorses Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan, which calls for a yet-to-be-established Board of Peace as a transitional authority that he would head. It also would authorize an international stabilization force in Gaza with a wide mandate, including overseeing the borders, providing security and demilitarizing the territory.

Arab and other countries that have expressed interest in participating in the stabilization force have indicated that such a mandate is necessary for them to contribute troops.

After facing objections from some U.N. Security Council members that the resolution didn’t envision a future independent Palestinian state, the U.S. made revisions.

It now says that after reforms to the Palestinian Authority are “faithfully carried out and Gaza redevelopment has advanced, the conditions may be in place for a credible pathway to Palestinian self-determination and statehood.”

Russia’s rival draft resolution, obtained Friday by The Associated Press, includes stronger language supporting Palestinian statehood alongside Israel and stressing that the West Bank and Gaza must be joined as a state under the Palestinian Authority.

Russia’s U.N. mission said in a statement that it took the step because the U.N. Security Council, which is responsible for maintaining international peace and security, “should be given a rightful role and the necessary tools to ensure accountability and control.”

Russia said council resolutions also are supposed to reaffirm fundamental decisions, “first and foremost the two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian settlement.”

Russia said those provisions were not in the U.S. draft, so it circulated its own text whose objective is “to amend the U.S. concept and bring it into conformity” with previous council decisions.

“We would like to stress that our document does not contradict the American initiative,” the Russian mission said. “On the contrary, it notes the tireless efforts by the mediators — the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey — without which the long-awaited ceasefire and the release of hostages and detainees would have been impossible.”

Russia said it also welcomes provisions of Trump’s plan that brought about the ceasefire, release of hostages and detainees, exchange of bodies and resumption of humanitarian access and aid deliveries.

On Thursday, the U.S. mission to the United Nations warned in a statement that “attempts to sow discord” have “grave, tangible and entirely avoidable consequences for Palestinians in Gaza.” It urged the council to unite and pass the latest U.S. draft resolution.
