District Ganderbal Thang-Ta Championship 2026, organised by the District Ganderbal Thang-Ta Association and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council, concluded successfully after two days of thrilling competition held from 19th to 20th June 2026 at Indoor Stadium Sehpora, Ganderbal.
The championship, as per a statement, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of approximately 250 players from various schools, clubs, and training centres across the district, showcasing exceptional talent, discipline, and sportsmanship in the traditional martial art of Thang-Ta.
The closing ceremony was graced by Mir Mushtaq, Provincial President, JKYNC Kashmir Province, as the Chief Guest. He congratulated all athletes for their outstanding performances and emphasised the importance of sports in character building and youth development.
The championship results were Khelo India Thang-Ta Centre, Lar as champions, Alamdar-e-Kashmir School, Ganderbal as Runner-up and Qamaria Model Higher Secondary School, Ganderbal, as 2nd runner-up.
The organisers expressed their gratitude to the J&K Sports Council, officials, coaches, volunteers, participants, and supporters for contributing to the success of the championship. The event concluded with the distribution of trophies, medals, and certificates to the winners and outstanding performers.
