Srinagar, Oct 4: Inayat Jehangir bagged his fourth consecutive singles title, while Hardeep Singh and Paras Kachroo bagged the doubles title at the Srinagar Open Tennis Championship 2026, which concluded at Gindun Sports Complex on Sunday.
Areena Bilal won the Under-10 girls event, while Aizah Masoodi finished runner-up.
The doubles final, as per a statement, between the Hardeep-Paras pair and Mir Jameel-Haider Hussain was a fitting end to the tournament, as the title match went to a tie-break after both the teams had won a set apiece.
Both the teams were neck and neck, exchanging service breaks during the time break, with Hardeep-Paras finally prevailing 13-11.
The singles final was a lopsided affair as Jehangir romped home with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Shubhkarman Singh. This was his fourth consecutive Srinagar Open Tennis Championship Singles title.
However, the defending champion faced a stiff challenge in the semifinal from veteran tennis player Deepak Singh. The match lasted more than an hour, with Jehangir prevailing 8-6.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Security) Sajad Khaliq Bhat was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and gave away the trophies to the winners.
