SPO disengaged from service in Kathua

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua Mohita Sharma has ordered the disengagement of a Special Police Officer (SPO), given his alleged involvement in “immoral and corrupt practices.”

“As per reliable sources and secret information received from District Special Branch, Kathua, it has been found that SPO (198) Rishi Sharma, son of Joginder Paul, resident of Keerian-Kathua has been found involved in immoral and corrupt practices through which he has amassed significant movable and immovable assets. Besides this, he is not performing the assigned duties to the satisfaction of the concerned Supervisory Officer(s) and has been running absent,” the order issued by SSP Kathua read.

Keeping in view these facts, SPO Rishi Sharma was disengaged from the service of SPOs of district Kathua with effect from June 12, 2026 i.e., the date on which he was marked unauthorisedly absent from Out Post Sarla, SSP Kathua ordered.

While directing him (disengaged SPO) to deposit all the uniform articles, arms and ammunition issued to him in the DPL store, she stated that SPO No 198/SPO-K was treated as vacant.
